A full mantel

It's a little late for this but I'm going to blog it anyway. This Christmas was the best we have ever had.
Weeks prior we had asked the boys how they wanted to open presents before or after church. They both responded with after. I quickly told the boys that I was so proud of them for putting the Savior first and told them that they would be blessed for it. I new I was safe in saying that because I knew what Santa had wrapped for them. So Christmas eve we let them open their pajamas. Then Christmas morning we got ready and went to church with no hassle from the boys. It was so nice.
We also had an additional stalking hanging on our mantel. It was cool for me to see that our mantel was full. I just looked kind of bare with just three.
The boy's had asked for ipods and we quickly told them that they were to expensive and that that was not going to be an option this year. The boys quickly started looking up cheaper options and we still turned them down. So we had them convinced that they were not getting what they really wanted. Truth is we got a great deal Thanksgiving night where we got a gift card with the ipods that basically paid for a dock with radio and alarm clock. Totally sweet deal. Christmas was small but worth it when we brought the presents out for them to open. I love being able to surprise them like that. I'm such a good liar.
Well the mantel WAS full until the boy's got there before I did.

Doug with his tablet, Dex and Harry with ipods. This is what our
home looked like for the rest of the break.

No job to small for a utility knife!!
