Old bad news, over due.

Some of you have heard so I will share.
Doug called me from the train in SLC to inform me with tears he was laid off and he was comming home. We cried together his whole trip home. We went through so many emotions in that short amount of time. From trying and process and figure out what was happening to how we were going to handle it. We have been hit with hard trials the last few years and have been able to push forward but thought this would seriously be the end of Doug. To make it worse Doug had to drive back the next day and pick up his stuff. With no warning he wasn't prepared to carry his all of his books and stuff home on the train. And with no badge to get in the building, ya!
On his way home he stopped at LDS Employment and has been networking, been to several job fairs in Layton, Bountiful, and on Base. He updated his resume and posted it all over the internet, talked to our ward employment specialist(awesome guy), got leads from members of the ward and friends and applied for all job that were available. He even had some buisness cards made. After just 3 days our computer crashed. That was a 4 day fix the computer panic.
There are so many others looking for jobs. We pray that none of you have to go through this. Doug did suprise me and has been very positive which has made our faith strong. I know that Doug will be blessed I just hope it is soon. We are pushing 2 months now but we are OK. Doug needs to get a job soon! He is so sweet but he is wanting to help (invade) on some of my chores and he put kinks in my swagger.
He decided to do laundry on a tuesday instead of wednesday and he started with darks. I'm thinking, Who starts with darks? Clearly everyone should think like I do and wash in this order-
Whites w/ bleach
Light colors
Dark colors
Levis
Colored towels
White towels and rags w/ bleach
This way you start with a fresh machine and leave a fresh machine for next week.
Whatever, I know I shouldn't complain. Doug is a great guy and I do love him.

We pray for our family and friends.
With Love, US

Regi,
One of ours was laid off a week ago. You have our prayers and best wishes.
At least Doug wasn't fired like I was once. Now, that hurt! I cried all the way home, too. It was just a job I wasn't experienced enough for. It was about the time our first child was born. I'd broken my hand and had surgery on it, and got a ticket about the same time. (The license plate had fallen off the front of my car) Not fun!

Be sure to have him get on LinkedIn.com and use the UTOUG (Utah Oracle Users Group) site & resources. They have an awesome network of Oracle DBA's.

Also, every now & then the church also hires for Oracle. Also check out ihc.com They have a huge IT staff that is usually always hiring at one point or another.

Best of luck though. Definitely not something fun to go through.
